Portrait Photography
Portraits That Stay on the Wall.
From your first email to the final gallery, every portrait photography commission is handled with intention. I take time to learn who is in the photos, the dynamics between them, and the version of the family you want to remember, so the session itself can stay relaxed and unrushed. Serving families across London, Ontario, Toronto, and the rest of the province with portraits built to age well on the wall.

BENEFITS
Why It Makes a Difference
Considered Pre-Production
Before the shoot, we talk through who is in the photos, what the gallery is for, and where it will live. The groundwork is what separates portrait photography that gets printed from family photos that get filed away and forgotten.
Pro-Grade Equipment
From full-frame cameras and fast prime lenses to portable lighting, every piece of gear is chosen for soft, flattering portrait photography that holds up at print size, not just on a phone.
A Calm, Relaxed Pace
Kids do not pose on demand and partners freeze when the camera comes up. I work at a calm pace, direct lightly, and let the session breathe so the family photographer experience is something you would actually do again.
Intentional Post-Production
Colour grading, skin tones, and gentle retouching are handled with restraint. Every edit honours how the family actually looks, never softened beyond recognition or pushed into a heavy preset.
Polished Final Delivery
Your edited family photos are delivered in full resolution with web and print crops, along with a structured review round so the final gallery is exactly what you wanted to keep and share.
Story-First Direction
Whether you booked a single portrait or a full extended-family session, I shoot with the gallery in mind, balancing posed family portrait photographer frames with the in-between moments that age the best.
How it Works
Great portrait photography rarely happens on the first frame. Here is what working together looks like, from first conversation to final gallery.
PLANNING & PREP
The work starts the moment you reach out. We talk through who is in the photos, what the gallery is for, and where you actually want to shoot, then I share a quick prep and wardrobe guide so the day arrives easy. If kids are involved, I plan around naps and snacks, not against them.
YOUR PORTRAIT SESSION
On the day, we move at the family's pace. Full-frame cameras and fast primes catch both the directed family portrait photographer frames and the unprompted moments in between. I direct softly and never rush anyone, which is usually what makes the difference between portrait photography that feels staged and family photos that feel like you.
EDITING & DELIVERY
After the session, your favourites go through careful retouching, colour balancing, and gentle skin work. Final family photography is delivered in full resolution with web and print crops, alongside a structured review round so you can sign off on the gallery before anything is finalised.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a portrait or family photo session cost?
The cost of a portrait or family photographer session is shaped by session length, location, the size of the group, and how many edited family photos you want delivered. Standalone sessions, extended-family shoots, and annual milestone galleries are each priced differently. The right answer starts with a quick conversation about what the gallery is for, not a generic rate card.
What's included in a portrait or family photography session?
Every portrait photography session includes a pre-shoot planning call, location and wardrobe guidance, the session itself, and a fully edited gallery delivered in full resolution. Print and web crops are included. If you are after a more involved family portrait photographer setup with multiple looks or locations, that is scoped in advance so the day stays on plan.
How long does a portrait session take?
Most portrait and family photography sessions run 45 to 90 minutes on-location, depending on the size of the group and how many looks you want. Sessions involving young kids are kept on the shorter end and paced around their tolerance. The pre-shoot call sets the right length for your specific session so we are not rushing anyone.
Will the shoot be outdoors, in a studio, or at our home?
Any of the three. Outdoor sessions tend to suit families who want a relaxed, natural feel; in-home shoots are ideal for newborns and milestone family photos; studio sessions give the cleanest, most consistent look. We pick the right setup based on the gallery you want, and a quick family photographer near me search rarely answers that question on its own.
How many edited photos will we receive, and when?
Most sessions deliver 30 to 60 fully edited family photos, depending on session length and group size. Your gallery arrives within two to three weeks of the session in full resolution with web crops for sharing. A structured review round is built in so the final selection is exactly what you wanted to print and keep.
What should we wear for a family photo shoot?
Coordinate, do not match. Soft, layered tones in fabrics you already own and feel like yourselves in tend to read best across portrait photography. Avoid loud logos, brand-new clothes the kids have not worn yet, or anything itchy. I send a short wardrobe guide before every session so the family photos still feel like you, not a styled catalogue.
